Innovative concepts for swimming pools and baths of the future

Strong Congress programme for the Innovation Days / Solutions in the areas of innovative pool and bath technology, increased efficiency and sustainability

The preparations for the interbad Innovation Days, which will be held in Stuttgart on 22 and 23 September 2021, are in full swing. With a combination of a Congress, an exhibition and networking, the condensed format will enable visitors to hold technical discussions, take part in network forums and gain insights into the latest trends and technical innovations.

Innovations, new products and trends

“Sparkling perspectives at interbad.” – Under this motto Messe Stuttgart and its partners – the German Association for the Recreational and Medicinal Bath Industry (DGfdB) and the German Sauna Association – will jointly present a future-oriented Congress programme which promises variety and knowledge advantages.
The Congress for Pool and Bath Technology will feature practical solutions relating to current questions in the industry. Participants will be able to exchange information and views during the technical talks, for example on the subjects of increased efficiency in the operation of baths, ventilation systems during the corona pandemic and digitalisation.

Christian Mankel, Managing Director of the German Association for the Recreational and Medicinal Bath Industry (DGfdB): “As the first live event after 18 months of the pandemic, the interbad Innovation Days will be flanked by the DGfdB Congress for Pool and Bath Technology which over a period of two days will make our pool and bath industry with – and especially after – corona the centre of attention. First-class speakers will discuss questions such as the following: ‘How many swimming pools does the country need?’, “What’s the situation in relation to the number of swimming pools in rural regions?’ or ‘Leisure pools and wellness – quo vadis?’.”

The German Sauna Association will focus on the topic of sustainability in the annual conference entitled “Sauna impulses”. “Energetic future for saunas and pools” is the area in which sauna operators will obtain information on potential savings and resource-conserving measures in the operation of public baths.

Speakers will provide insiders’ insights

The speakers during the Congress will include renowned experts and representatives from the field of research. For example, Eva Reckmann, Managing Partner of MONDRIAN Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG, will talk about the foundations for cost-conscious and risk-aware facility management. “The availability of relevant data is the key to the efficient operation of baths and one of the most important conditions for complying with operators’ obligations. The special situation in 2020 and 2021 with a sudden lockdown and the restart of the operation of baths put pressure in many instances on the data availability of real estate, internal organisation and the concept for knowing and fulfilling operators’ obligations,” said Reckmann. “There are numerous questions ranging from the technical shutdown of buildings through to absolutely essential measures. In addition to our experiences with cost-conscious and risk-aware facility management, we will describe the reorganisation phase from data management, analysis of obligations and delegation through to risk evaluation in real-estate operations.” The participants can look forward to another renowned expert in the person of Dr. Stefan Neumeier from the Thünen Institute for Rural Areas, who will talk about the provision of swimming pools in rural areas.

Emphasis on safety

The specially developed concept “Safe Expo – Safe for people. Good for the economy” of Messe Stuttgart contains extensive hygiene and space regulations. Despite the corona pandemic, it will be possible to stage interbad thanks to measures such as online ticketing and an intelligent visitor guidance system, compliance with the so-called 3G regulations, modern ventilation technology and a general obligation to wear face masks.
